BRM Upgrade to Carrera Digital

If you want to race the BRM slotcar on a Carrera Digital track

Upgrade Carrera Digital
We use the Carrera Digital 132 decoder because the BRM motors are designed for 12-15V

Voltage & Motor
Some BRM engines can produce inaccurate lap time measurements. Upon request, we can run the engine in and eliminate interference to ensure error-free digital operation.

Lights
Optionally available with xenon or warm white LEDs—including brake light function and connectors like the Carrera. Additional headlights are available depending on the model.

You can find more information about the BRM conversion here.

BRM slotcars with lights

Lights for use on analoge tracks

For each analog car we offer also our high quality OVERDRIVE permanent lightkits. Normally we use for modern cars LEDs with xenon effect and for classic cars warm white LEDs.
Additional headlights can be ordered separately, if feasible.

Tuning BRM slotcar

Tuning BRM slotcars

Tires
The BRM tires offer decent grip, but they're also very soft and therefore wear out very quickly. Ground Ortmann tires are certainly a sensible tuning option for most drivers.

Running in the car
Running in the gearbox and bearings and then greasing and oiling them again is highly recommended for the BRM.

Chassis inspection
Recommended for the BRM Youngtimer.

Replace the engine mount screws
The screws that secure and position the motor in the motor mount are often difficult to loosen even at the factory. We therefore strongly recommend having these screws replaced immediately. The new screws are of significantly better quality and can be opened with a Torx 6 screwdriver.
