Scalextric, including the original Carrera decoder on the Carrera Digital 132 track

When upgrading to digital, we only use the Carrera Digital 132 decoder. For most models the cockpit needs to be replaced.

Since most Scalextric slotcars already have lighting installed, this is then connected directly to the Carrera decoder.

Tuning Scalextric generell

  • Exchange cockpit
By replacing the original cockpit with a 2D photo inlet, weight can be saved and the center of gravity lowered without any major visual compromises.

  • Running in the motor
We run the motor in at low voltage for several hours without load. This allows the speed to be increased by up to 10%. The rule here is: the lower the quality of the motor (e.g., Fly Standard), the more effective the run-in process will be.

  • Running in the slotcar
The motor and transmission are slowly run in at low voltage. The axle is then cleaned, the transmission is greased, and the bearings are oiled.
